The GS-EES has been established in the framework of CELEST together with the Cluster of Excellence POLiS in 2019. Doctoral researchers doing their research within POLiS take part in the Graduate School Electrochemical Energy Storage. Out of the currently approximately 90 members, POLiS funds about 60 doctoral researchers whereas participation of the other members ist being funded by CELEST.

So far, members of the Graduate School have spent their Research Stay in 17 different countries on four continent. Graduates of the GS-EES pursue careers in science and industry.
